Chatra District
Chatra district is one of the 24 district of Jharkhand, India.
The district was established after parting with the state of Hazaribagh in 1991.
Chatra is the administrative headquarters of this region. The region covers an area of 3706 km

Bhadrakali Temple: - located in Itkhori, 35 km east of Chatra and 16 km west of Chauparan connected to Grand Trunk Road. Along with the temple on the Mahanad (Mahane) river surrounded by a hill and a forest, there is a water reservoir.
Kunda Cave: - The ruins of the old Kunda palace are still located about 3 km from the current Kunda Village. The site may have been created in the late 17th or early 18th century AD. [Catation needed]
Tamasin: - The word tamasin is 'sand + sand' which means 'darkness prevails'. The area is dotted with lush tropical forest, making the area dark even during the day. Tamasin has a waterfall.
Apart from these there are several waterfalls in Chatra.
Maa Kauleswary Temple: - Maa Kauleswary Mandir is located near the Hunterganj block in Kedli kalan village. It is 10 km from Hunterganj and the temple is located on a hill 650 feet high. The Buddha Temple is located on Kuleswary Hill and every year thousands of visitors come to visit the temples and nature of the area.
